KDrama Rant: Pretty Man @ Bel Ami

My first impression? OH GOSH! CRINGY! I want to drop this drama from the early episode. Everytime I watch this drama my hand will clench into a fist and it won't unfold. I feel like scratching my skin until it's bleeding because the cringe-worthy scenes in this drama is so damn high!

I hated Jang Geun Suk in the early episode because he is the reason I clench my hand. I fast forward his scene cause I can't bear to watch it and I'm afraid I might actually make my skin bleeds. The only thing that keep me watching is Lee Jang Woo, our unfortunate second male lead. He is so cute in this drama. His crush towards IU is so cute!

I'm glad I didn't drop this drama though cause the story is getting interesting. We are now on the fourth woman, the 8th episode, and I'm curious what will happen next. And JGS's hair is getting better. I hated him with longer hair cause it makes him look gay. Not gay happy, gay gay. I used to adore him, not anymore. well, maybe a little.

Because they are so cute together,
I feel bad for David Choi (Jang Woo's character's name)
coz second male lead NEVER GETS THE GIRL.
Yes, I'm talking about Young Do and Chil Bong.

One of my fav scene where he says she's cute.
I can feel the love.

See the hairstyle? It's gradually becoming better, cooler, and handsome.

KDrama review: Puberty Medley (2013)

Holla there December! Month of Christmas! Merry merry merry….
My first post for December is about, well, non-other than Korean drama. I've been indulging myself into many Korean dramas these days. Something that can only be done during long holiday. My broadband has been a great help really although the quota exceeded its limit already. The bad side is it only works supersonic fast at 2 am until 8 am SHARP. Guess what time I sleep every day. Giggle.

So I came across this drama “Puberty Medley” or “Adolescence Medley” when I was busy searching for good movies in YouTube to be downloaded. It is a KBS special drama and only slated for 4 episodes. So everything is crammed into 4 amazing episodes. I was hesitate to download it initially but my heart said, why not give it a try and I’m glad I did.

This drama is basically about first love and is set in high school in the year 2003 and also the present year 2013. The story starts with our male lead teaching in a class and suddenly we hear bell ringing and an angry voice of a woman. He was actually sleeping and dreaming and the sound of an angry voice woke him up. Then we can see that our male lead is actually a teacher teaching in a prep school. The story then goes back into the past and the characters’ development are exhibited.
What’s in this drama?
  1. It’s set in high school and is suitable for teenager. Since I’m basically a teenager still, so it perfectly suitable for me.
  2. It tells a simple first love story that's sweet and funny.  First love is always special.
  3. Teaches you to live your life bravely. Embrace the challenges in life. Be good to people.
  4.  Don’t judge a person by its “cover”. He/she may be a good person.
  5.  Don’t be a bully. No one likes bully.
  6.  Enjoy your high school life. It happens only once.
  7.  The songs in this drama are awesome. Dae to the bak!

Episode 1- synopsis
After transferring schools seven times, Choi Jeongu learns it is easiest not to make friends nor enemies. He sticks to that practice when he transfers into Namil High School, but not for long. The guy sitting next to him, Deokwon, is overly friendly and keeps trying to become friends with him. The class president and the top student of the school, Yang Ayeong, keeps bothering him to do chores for the class. Jeongu succeeds in remaining invisible until one fateful day, when he stands up for Deokwon against a bully, who is constantly picking on him. He mistakenly hits the Brown Bear, Yeokho, and is challenged to a duel. If Jeongu wins, Deokwon will be left alone. When Ayeong tells him to apologize to Yeokho, Jeongu gets angry and blurts out, "Go out with me." A day full of regrets, but Jeongu is not concerned, since he is transferring out in a week anyway.

Episode 2- synopsis
Since Jeongwu is no longer transferring out, all of his schemes went out the window. "What do I do about National Singing Contest?" " What about Brown Bear, who is out to get me?" "And... what do I do with my public girlfriend Yang Ayeong?" Jeongwu is faced with the greatest crisis of his life. Yeongbok and Wonil are itching to beat up Jeongwu, but Yeokho, who is supposed to fight him, simply smiles knowingly. Jeongwu comes to grip with the fact that he cannot escape the danger before him, and joins a boxing gym. However, he sees Yeokho there and runs away and ends up running into Ayeong at the bus stop. After a long, silent trip home, she asks him a question he cannot avoid...

Episode 3- synopsis
Deokwon says a lot has changed since Jeongwu transferred in, and calls Jeongwu Namil High's hero. It's a bit embarrassing, but Jeongwu doesn't mind. But when a true hero is needed, the one who steps up is Deokwon, not Jeongwu. Jeongwu is reminded of how cowardly he really is, and becomes disappointed in himself. Meanwhile, Jeongwu hears from Wonil that something is going on between Yeokho and Ayeong. When he asked, Ayeong says coldly, "Why is that so important to you?"

Episode 4- synopsis
Jeongu faces off against Yeokho, man to man. Thanks to that, he feels closer to Ayeong. Now all that's left is to sing a cheerful song for her on National Singing Contest. He's walking on air, happy that he's shaking off his cowardly self and maturing a little. Ayeong takes him by the hand and teaches him how to ride a bike. The bike has "YW85" written on it. Ayeong says she wants Jeongu to have it, but he refuses to accept something so precious to her. But she keeps insisting. Jeongu suspects something and turns his back to her, and she musters up the courage to tell him...

Btw, the male lead,Kwak Dong Yeon is 97-er. But he had done a very good job in portraying Choi Jeongu. He can sing too! Such a young adorable talented lad.

Reply 1994, I’m officially joining the fence!

In my previous post, I did say that my favourite drama of the four that I mentioned was The Heirs. I still love it but I love Reply 1994 more now. Reason is, our Trash oppa and Chilbongie! I am Trash oppa team from the beginning of the drama but that was before my Chilbong enter the story and melt my heart. Gosh, my inner fan girl comes out.  The reason why it is different from The Heirs is, the two male lead get the same share of romance with the female lead. As for The Heirs, only Kim Tan get to have cutey kissy scene with Eun Sang. My poor Young Do. *let me hug u*

As the episode reaches its 11th episode this Saturday, (no show on Friday because of the MAMA thingy), we will get more romance and heartbroken scenes but I totally root for Chilbong, coz he is so cute! I wonder, is binggrae likes Trash oppa here? Or just treats him like a big brother? Coz in Reply 1997, Joon Hee is gay and he likes Yoon Jae. And I totally cool with it. Hahaha. Yoo Yeon-seok who plays Chilbong was dubbed as nation’s bad guy coz he always plays bad guy in the movies he starred in, and I really hate him in the “a werewolf boy”. Good thing he plays good guy in Gu family book. I first saw Jong woo (who plays Trash Oppa) in “my tutor friend” and he was also a bad guy. All the bad guy has turn to good guy now huh. Go Ara should really be thankful to the casting director for casting her in this drama. Her previous dramas was a disappointment. Not that I watch all her dramas. Previously she is just known for her beautiful look and not for her talent. I don’t know who the husband is, and we will have to wait until the end. So, may the best man win (Although Trash Oppa and Chilbong are the best).

***

Gosh, how many Korean dramas and movies have I watched? I should really learn Korean language now.  Oh and did I mention, The Heirs got its first highest rating last night for its 13th episode. See, with “secret love” gone, viewers decided to switch over to The Heirs. The rating for last night was a whopping 20.6%. *clap clap for The Heirs team*

They are looking at the magic eye

lots of dramas to root for

Rant on Korean drama: Noona-Dongsaeng relationship at its best

Just recently, new drama from SBS, “I Can Hear Your Voice” that aired every Wednesday and Thursday achieved its highest rating at 24.8%. That came out as no surprise cause I’ve been loyal to this drama since its pilot episode and have since hooked up with its storyline.  I started watching this drama because my cutie pie Lee Jong Suk (who had stared in School 2013) is the main role in this drama. Although he has been in the entertainment industry for quite some time, I started liking him in School 2013. I saw him in secret garden before, but his appearance doesn’t give much impact to the audience aka me. I’m so glad he finally found a drama that can fully utilise his acting skills. As for the main leads I initially doubt the pairing for the leading cast because they have big age difference. But Lee Bo Young is different and also she is known as the queen of rating. I guess that’s part of the reason why she is chosen for that role. Or maybe she is just the right person to play the role. The chemistry and lovey dovey moment between the leading actors is just what the audiences (me) want.

As a Korean drama hardcore fan, I’ve seen too many Noona Dongsaeng pairing before but this drama’s OTP have caught my attention so far. For example, the age differences between the main lead in some of the dramas i've watched,
“The Moon Embracing The Sun = 6 years”,
“The King 2 Hearts = 9 years”,
“I do I do = 11 years”,
“Faith = 10 years”,
“7th Grade Civil Servant = 10 years”
and of course they are many others. (The Moon Embracing The Sun is by far my Favourite but the fact that Han Ga In is married disturbs me, she could make a good couple with Kim Soo Hyun) I can say this drama has the best pairing of all Noona Dongsaeng dramas I’ve ever watched. Well, that’s my sole opinion of course. I love Yoon Eun Hye and Yoo Seung Ho in I Miss You but since they are not the OTP, well.. lets leave it that way. I love Joo Won in 7th Grade Civil Servant but his partner aka Choi Kang Hee is too old for him. Although I love CKH in Protect the boss, she is just not suitable for the role in 7th. Duh casting director, you make me hate that drama. =.=

Although in this drama, the 2 main leads have a huge 10 years age gap, I think they complement each other very well. They definitely can pull off this relationship. Now, Please have a happy ending.

As for now, the drama was extended from 16 to 18 episodes. I just hope the writer wouldn’t drag the storyline and add some unnecessary scenes just to make it up to 18 episodes. And of course we, the audiences want a happy ending, like please get married fast. No? Sorry lawyer Cha, I love Park Soo Haa. :D

Aren't they cute. :D

Yup, they meet again. Oska and the gay guy in Secret Garden. Ahaaa..=P

Uri main casts.

I Miss You

I miss you too yoo chun oppa! Yup! That is his title for his new drama this year after rooftop prince. I still think the title is too common. The genre is different than his previous drama rooftop prince which is fantasy, comedy and romance. The genre for his new drama will be melodrama and romance. When it involves melodrama, as usual, there will be a lot of crying scenes, heartbreaking scenes which require the audience to prepare tissue next to them. According to some comments I read from the other viewer who had watch the drama, (I have yet to watch the drama, T_T), all the episodes made them cry. Since this drama begins with child actors until episode 4, the rating is not that high. I wonder why. Maybe too much tears? The main characters would be MY OPPA Park Yoo Chun and Yoon Eun Hye. I love YEH since her coffee prince days. I don’t really like the second lead actor because he is waaaay too young for YEH. Seriously cast director? Seriously?? But, I changed my mind though. I think he can play that role well since he is really an awesome actor. The second lead actress is a bit old. *criticism at its best* nonetheless, I can’t wait to watch this drama. oo brother ku tersayang, cepat cepat balik. I want my drama. T_T   I want Nice Guy last episode too. Song joong ki oppa! I want Running Man 119 and 120 too!

The Official Wallpaper

The Child Actors. I can see the resemblance there.

I changed my mind after I saw this picture. Yoo Seung Ho really can act well despite of his young age.  But still, seriously? 9 years?

The triangle love

Song Joong Ki oppa and Moon Chae Won!!

I heard Siwon has new drama, and Sung Joon, and Kim Woo Bin and and and...arrrrghhhhhhh.. So many!!
*fainted*
lots of dorama to watch

Rooftop Prince!

Ommaaa! *hentak hentak kepala di dinding* well, that’s my only expression when I watch Yoochun’s drama. Rooftop prince? OMG! Everyone should watch this. Well apart from Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Not only this drama full of humour but also contains what-is-needed-in-a-drama like romance and you name it. OHMY! Yoochun is very smexy here. There is certain part that needed to be rewind over and over again because you just can’t ignore his smexiness.

 *drool*

The story is about Lee gak, a chosun period (a very long time ago in Korea) prince. He lost his wife in that period and wanted to take revenge for the death of his princess. While investigating the seemingly suspicious murder case, he and his 3 other servant travel back 300 years to the future while escaping from some cruel murderers in the woods.

*fast forward to the future, 2012*

They fall under Park Ha’s rooftop house and live there. He meets Hong Se Na, his princess (reincarnation) and tries to solve the case so that he and his 3 servants can go back. There is also his reincarnation named Yong Tae Yong that lost in New York. He fall in love with Park Ha, the princess’s young sister. And…….

That’s the conflict. I just cannot stand the evilness by Yong Tae Moo and Se Na. They really played their role very well to the extent that I hate them so much I just wanna skip some episode so that I don’t have to watch their evil plan towards *my boyfriend* Prince Lee gak and Park Ha. Good job, well done.

The 3 servants are very cute! I like Do Chi San more because he is so cute and yeah, his face resembles my younger brother a bit. Yong Sul is the strong man and Man Bo is the intelligent man.
The love scenes between Lee Gak and Park Ha are so real and even their chemistry cannot be ignored. Even in real life, the chemistry is well shown by them and I even suspected they have relationship. *JEALOUSY*

This drama is very well scripted and I like how Yoochun’s role changing into 3 different characters. The only thing I don’t favour much in this drama is the ending. I cried, not for the drama but for Yoochun. *laugh laugh laugh* I’m very sure I’m gonna re-watch this over and over again.

Another few days before going back where I suppose to be. Wuaaaaa! I don’t wanna go back! I don’t wanna go back! I DON’T WANT TO GO BACK!

oh, the smile!

lots of love
